Rebuilding Together Jersey City preserves and revitalizes houses and communities, assuring that low-income homeowners, from the elderly and disabled to families with children, live in warmth, safety, and independence.

National Rebuilding Day

Every year Rebuilding Together Jersey City, with more than 500 skilled and unskilled volunteers from the Jersey City area, join together every spring to rehabilitate the homes of qualified Jersey City residents as part of National Rebuilding Day. Legions of local volunteers come together in Jersey City to rehabilitate homes and facilities in our area at the same time thousands of other projects are underway across the United States. Homeowners and volunteers work together to rebuild and preserve and revitalize the communities in which they live.

Our unique partnership with skilled local labor have included:

  • Hudson County Carpenters Local #6
  • Hudson Bergen Essex County Electricians Local #164
  • Hudson County Plumbers Local #14
  • Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen Local #4
  • Northern Jersey Plasterers & Cement Masons Local #29
  • Building Trades Laborers Local #21 and Local #325
  • Heavy Construction Laborers Local #472

Volunteers from dozens of local organizations including Provident Bank, United Water, AEGIS Insurance Services, Morgan Stanley, Pershing, Malta Auxiliary, St. Patrick’s School, and the City of Jersey City provide the supplemental unskilled labor.
